Desert Tours from Fes: Merzouga & Fes to Marrakech

Fez is the most direct starting point for Merzouga: in a single day you go from medieval alleyways to the first dunes. Along the way come Ifrane, with its alpine rooftops, the Barbary macaques of the Azrou cedar forest and the viewpoints over the Ziz Valley.

You can make it a round trip back to Fez, or use the desert as a hinge and finish in Marrakech, travelling through the Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley and Ait Benhaddou without ever doubling back.
